Sawadee ka! So in my previous entry i ranted about the places we went during the day. those are only a few of the many attractions in hatyai. you can explore more on your visit here if you got time to spare and extra money to spend. since we're on a food hunt we spent most our expenses on savoring tasty food that we won't find back in Malaysia.
Hatyai is famous for its night markets and food stalls that are set up almost everywhere near the street. you can find all sorts of thai street food from fruits (the mini pineapples are da bomb) to deep fried seafood, snacks, you name it. we couldn't have enough! halal food are easily available as many of the sellers are muslim women. The night market that we went to is located near Lee Garden Plaza because it's the closest to our hotel (only a few blocks away) but you can find many more scattered around the city like the asean trade centre.
We arrived at our room from the floating market around 7 pm and by 8 we're already hungry..haha. being in a food heaven does that to you :p so we cleaned ourselves up and after isyak we're out for another episode of food scouting.

This is when i had oyster omelette for the first time. i can't describe in words how delightful it was just that it left me wanting for more :D one thing i noticed is that some of the drinks and food can sometimes be a little too sweet for my liking such as their abc (this is when i suddenly crave for abc kampung melayu huu) and their curry. other than that everything else is just perfect :) you can also try their Pad Thai (kuetiaw goreng) ya Allah sedap gila sampai sekarang teringat hehe.
okey next in our itinerary is thai massage! something we've been longing for after all the walking since morning. Massage parlors can be found literally everywhere in the city (and i do mean everywhere, there are like 2 or 3 on every block) offering services like full body massage, foot massage, facial and many more for prices as low as 200 baht per hour. I was thinking of getting a full body massage but got a little embarrassed to do it alone so we got foot massages instead 
We picked out a massage parlor a little further down the street to avoid being seen by passersby since there's no curtain on the shops and people can see right through the windows haha.

we're fortunate because we reached the parlor just before it's closing time. most massage parlors here operate from 9 am to 11 pm. i can't remember the name of the parlor that we went to which is a shame as i would definitely recommend it to everyone else. after chatting up with the three lovely women we found out that the massage therapist went to massage school in bangkok in preparation for working in the parlor. i guess that's one of the regulation before becoming a therapist here in thailand.
After the warm services we head back to our hotel and finally call it a day. Next morning we have to check out early so we can start exploring Songkhla, the neighbouring city. more stories on that on my next post. stay tuned ;)
